This $150 million project is an epitome of architectural excellence and features 226 independent living, 96 assisted living, and 42 memory care apartment homes. One River North

One River North is a striking concrete building located in the Denver RiNo neighborhood, making it a new architectural icon in the city. Clara Brown Commons

Clara Brown Commons is one of many projects representing Jirsa Hedrick’s efforts to give back to the Denver community. The community’s vision is summarized as: “Clara Brown Commons promotes belonging for residents and neighbors by creating a safe and caring community where we can stabilize our lives, expand our economic capacity, and deepen spiritual connectedness.” Due to the project’s important efforts to aid low income residents in the area, the project won the 2023 Metro Vision Award from the Denver Regional Council of Governments. The building is a 4-story apartment complex with approximately 60 units intended for women and transgender residents experiencing homelessness.

Designed by SAR+ and Jirsa Hedrick, 3000 Huron is one of Jirsa Hedrick’s many completed concrete structures. 3000 Huron is designed for those carving their own paths and embracing thrilling experiences at every corner. With a variety of vibrant and welcoming spaces, it encourages social connections and personal exploration. The building is 14 stories tall with almost 300 apartment units and an expansive amenities deck at level 4. Just blocks away from Coors field, 3000 Huron is right in the middle of the downtown excitement.

Boasting a lounge and large outdoor terrace at the 19th floor, The Dryden is Denver’s newest addition to high-rise living in the vibrant Golden Triangle neighborhood. The building is 19 stories tall above grade with 2 levels of below grade parking, and has over 400 units with amenities including a large fitness area, multiple spas, a large swimming area and more.

Catbird Hotel

This hybrid “aparthotel” resides in the River North District just north of downtown. It offers uniquely flexible lengths of stay from a nightly to weekly option on several floors and a monthly to yearly option on others. In addition to the hotel amenities, ‘The Red Barber’ provides rooftop dining and drinks, and weekly yoga classes are held on the in the rooftop events tent.

Judi’s House

The new building for Judi’s House is a new and innovative structure located in the heart of Denver, CO. The main aim of this project is to provide much-needed grief therapy services to families and children who are struggling with the loss of a loved one. This building has been thoughtfully designed with the comfort and convenience of home in mind, offering visitors the opportunity to receive high-quality support in a welcoming and secure environment.   Inside the building, visitors can find a variety of spaces that cater to their particular needs. The building features spacious playrooms and group therapy rooms, which enable children to express themselves, connect with peers, and develop coping skills they need to deal with loss. Additionally, the new building includes an art room designed to inspire creative expression and provide new ways of healing.   Lastly, the building includes all the necessary employee offices, ensuring that the team at Judi’s House is always ready and equipped to provide visitors with the support they need. These offices are designed to be efficient, comfortable, and inviting, allowing the staff to work effectively and support visitors with compassion and sensitivity.   Overall, Judi’s House project is a unique and innovative solution to providing much-needed support and services to children and families. The 900 Grant Storage project created a unique design challenge in converting an existing office building into a mixed-use building that maintains storage units on the upper floor with street-facing retail and restaurant space on the ground floor. Carbon fiber technology, wrapping beams and columns, were used to provide the structural capacity to support the larger floor loads.

The St. Julien is the place to stay in downtown Boulder. The luxury four-story hotel has restaurants and ballrooms which are frequently used for private and community events. Mission Hills

Mission Hills Church is a tilt-up concrete wall and steel-framed church south of Denver. The roof for the 1,700 seat sanctuary spans 168 feet and is surrounded by two and three-story classroom spaces. The unique tilt-up concrete basement walls with counterforts allow for a walk-out condition on the south side.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science Parking

This museum is open and busy nearly every day of the year, and it desperately needed additional parking that didn’t compromise the surrounding area. The two-level below-grade garage was completed in a very short time frame, and if not for the signage directing the user to the entrance you wouldn’t even know it was there. Cast-in-place concrete long-span structure keeps the garage open and comfortable for the museum guests.

Faith Bible Church

Transitioning from an aging metal building, this vibrant Denver area church expanded to a state-of-the-art 2600 seat worship space with 22,000 square feet of classroom space.  The steel structure is clad with brick, stone, and glass with curved walls and a 150′ long water feature.

Art Museum Residences

Union Station North Wing Office

Union Station North is a LEED Certified Gold project and an anchor building for the Union Station complex redevelopment in Lower Downtown Denver. It is a 5-story concrete-framed office building above 3 levels of below-grade parking. The unique, shallow, one-way post-tensioned slab and beam system allow for column-free office space throughout. Another unique feature is the integrated exterior grand stair and elevator which brings passengers up to the train mezzanine walkway which serves the adjacent Union Station train platform.

The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, both with over 100 years of history, needed an up-to-date and central headquarters. The site, right across from Civic Center Park and the capitol building provided the perfect location. Denver Christian Schools

Denver Christian Schools is a great example of re-purposing an existing industrial training facility into a Pre-K–12 combined campus.  Structural work included adding 2 competition gymnasiums, seismic upgrades throughout the existing structure, and the elimination of 6,500 sf of the existing floor by way of external steel trusses to support the existing roof to create a two-story-tall internal auditorium.

Adams County consolidated all county office’s into one central campus including a 5 story office tower. Eastside Human Services

The City and County of Denver wanted an open and airy new building for their clients in the Clayton neighborhood. This two-story, 54,000 square foot structure incorporates large expanses of glass on the southern atrium to connect the inside space with the outside environment. Large overhangs shield this glass from unwanted solar gains while the underfloor air distribution system allows for individual temperature controls.

Marriott Residence Inn

Marriott Residence Inn rises 14 stories above 18th & Champa Streets. It is comprised of 9 floors of hotel suites above 4 levels of parking, atop the lobby level. It is a post-tensioned concrete frame building, with concrete cores used as lateral-resisting elements. Special slab-to-core wall connection detailing helped in virtually eliminating any restraint cracking.
