This remodel to a historic structure in Downtown Golden will update one of the original buildings on the Golden main street to provide restaurant space at the ground level and several apartment units on the second floor. This building predates the paved roads in Golden and can be spotted in photos from this area taken in the 1800’s. Rather than demolishing the building and replacing with a new structure, the ownership team decided transform this former shop and meeting hall to new programming much needed in Golden.
27J school district wanted to improve the appearance, safety and flow of the schools’ main entrance. Complex geometry and steel framing created a stunning entrance addition for students to be proud of.
The 900 Grant Storage project created a unique design challenge in converting an existing office building into a mixed-use building that maintains storage units on the upper floor with street-facing retail and restaurant space on the ground floor. Carbon fiber technology, wrapping beams and columns, were used to provide the structural capacity to support the larger floor loads.
This existing office building was renovated into a hotel adding a pool and below-grade parking accessed by a car elevator. Creative engineering was required to dramatically increase the value and usability of this structure.
