The Chatfield Camper Registration building is a small building located near the Chatfield State Park campsite loops that provides information and registration for arriving campers. There is a small display of recovered artifacts from the state park; there is also a small restroom, souvenir shop and desk for park staff. The building is constructed to survive a flood event with minimal repair.
This new addition to the Cherry Creek State Park Swim Beach provides multiple functions including swim beach staff offices, vending areas, restrooms and a large educational area. The new Swim Beach building will replace several older structures in the area that no longer meet the park’s needs. This building is directly next to the reservoir and subject to possible flooding and was therefor designed to be fully submerged without being destroyed.
These exciting structures provide a modular base for a wide variety of ropes course activities. The cantilevered design provides a bracing-free aesthetic that is both entertaining and beautiful.
Jirsa Hedrick has done the foundation engineering of many rides at Elitch Gardens including the popular half-pipe coaster. We were also the structural engineer for the observation tower, the water park and various structures on the site.
